This powerful piece of equipment is designed to be operated by one person and is pushed from behind along the surface to be cut. Since the operator can clearly see the surface in front of the equipment, good and easy control over the machinery can be maintained. However, the operator must have experience and thorough knowledge of handling the walk-behind concrete saw to ensure safety and efficiency.

Types of walk-behind concrete saw

There are several types of walk-behind concrete saws but in this post, we will evaluate three basic and most common ones.

# Push saw: This is the most basic and common type of walk-behind concrete saw and as the name suggests, is pushed from behind. It has a single blade, is powered by a gasoline or electric motor, and is good for small and medium-scale jobs.

# Self-propelled saw: This type of walk-behind concrete saw has a motorized drive system and hence, can move forward independently. These saws are best for large jobs that require a lot of cutting and are more expensive than simple push saws.

# Flat saw: Flat saws are a type of walk-behind concrete saws that are ideal for cutting horizontal surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, and floors. They have large blades that can be adjusted to different depths for precise cutting.
